Rebates, Grants and Incentives


Geothermal Heating and Cooling

 

The Goverment of Alberta offers up to $10,000 for energy efficient new homes:

 

All Albertans who take possession of a new EnerGuide labelled single-family or multi-family row home (excluding stacked multi-family construction) on or after January 1, 2009 are eligible for one of the following rebates:

* $1,500 for new homes that meet or exceed EnerGuide 80;

* $3,000 for new homes that meet or exceed EnerGuide 82; or

* $10,000 for new homes that meet or exceed EnerGuide 86.

 

 

The Goverment of Canada offers up to $4,375 for retrofitting an existing home:

 

In order to qualify for this rebate the homeowner must hire an independent energy advisor certified by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan)to perform an energy efficiency evaluation of your home. Once a geothermal system is installed you are eligible to receive the grant.
